Tuna Steaks with Creamy Garlic Sauce & Salad is a simple, light and healthy meal choice. This meal combination is great for lunch or light dinner and is a great way to start your new year off right!
Ingredients:
For the Tuna Steaks:
- 2 tuna steaks about 1 1/2 inches thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Salad:
- Mixed greens
- 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes halved
- 1/4 cup cucumber diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Tuna: Season the tuna steaks with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Grill the Tuna: Heat grill to medium-high heat. Grill the tuna steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Make the Salad: In a bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber. Toss with olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble: Divide the salad among plates. Top with sliced tuna steaks and drizzle generously with the creamy garlic sauce.
