Ingredients

  • 5 Mint leaves plus sprig for garnish
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz Lime juice
  • 1 1/2 oz Rum
  • 1/2 oz Blue Curaçao
  • Ice
  • Club Soda
  • Lime wheel optional garnish

Instructions

  • Add mint leaves and simple syrup to a highball glass. Muddle them together (no more than six gentle turns and presses with the muddler).
  • Add the lime juice, rum, and blue curaçao. Stir.
  • Add ice, then top off with club soda. Gently stir.
  • Garnish and enjoy!
  • Tips:
  • Rum – Mojitos call for light rum. You can substitute coconut or pineapple flavored rum for even more tropical flavor.
  • Simple Syrup – You can use homemade simple syrup (1:1 water to sugar) or store-bought.
  • Lime Juice – Be sure to use freshly squeezed lime juice. Bottled has preservatives that negatively alters the flavor.
  • Blue Curaçao – This orange flavored liqueur gives the drink its blue color.
  • Mint – Fresh mint is essential to any mojito.
