Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuits

Just whipped up some Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuits, perfectly golden and packed with flavor!  Perfect for your morning coffee or a snack!

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
5 Tbsp cold unsalted butter
1 cup cold low-fat buttermilk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 seeded minced jalapeños
1/2 tsp white pepper
Pinch white granulated sugar
Extra shredded cheddar for topping

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 425℉ and lightly grease a baking sheet.
In a mixer, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, white pepper, and salt.
Grate cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in cheddar cheese and jalapeños until just mixed.
Add buttermilk and mix until just combined; the dough should be sticky.
On a floured surface, knead the dough 5-6 times and pat into a 1/2-inch-thick circle.
Cut out biscuits with a 2-inch cookie cutter. Gather and reshape scraps to cut more biscuits.
Place biscuits on the baking sheet, brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cheddar, and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
